7 students, 1 teacher, and a day loaded with fashion! Ms. Washmuth and us students took a school van for the day to go visit The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. We toured the school located in the fabulous downtown Los Angeles. We were all amazed by the schools high-tech classrooms and impressive student work, lining every hallway. Nick Verros, Daniel Musto, and Brandon Macdonald, three well known FIDM grads, spoke and answered several questions about the school and how they became successful through it. Later that day, we took our school van and arrived two hours early to the FIDM Debut Fashion Show. Just shy of first in line, we took many pictures, people watched, and patiently waited to get a good seat inside. We sat in the 3rd row and the show began. We watched in awe as models walked down the runway in FIDM Scholarship winners designs. The 10 months of time and energy they put into their collections was very apparent and put on a great show for us to enjoy.
After a long day filled with good times, laughs, and fashion, we sat down and enjoyed delicious burgers and shakes at The Counter. The other students and I would like to thank Ms. Washmuth for driving us down to LA for the day and experiencing our first real fashion show.
